I thought that embracing Virginia would help me get over missing Texas. It doesn't. I miss bluebonnets. I never got a picture of Max with bluebonnets, now he is too old and we will never be there in bluebonnet season. Max has never seen Big Tex. I regret not taking him to the State Fair when we were there. I miss Shiner Bock beer, more than I should. I miss A&M. I don't want to go there, I just want to see A&M bumper stickers and rings, etc.
What is iconic about Virginia? Am I missing it? Texas has the Alamo, the Rio Grande, and longhorns. I guess Virginia has the Shenandoah and Blue Ridge Mountains, which are beautiful. And the Potomac, which is not, but still cool. Some Civil War battlesites. What else?
