VBS-Methodist Style

We participated in Vacation Bible School this past week at a Methodist church. The director was one of the older sisters of Brian, one of Max's best friends (and one of my favorite friends-what a sweet boy!). I ran around with a group of 15 kids and Max and Brian were in a different group. It was a really good week. The program was tight, the kids were mostly well-behaved, and Max enjoyed it. The program cost $5/child, but everyone walked away with much more than $5 of tangible souvenirs, much less what it costs to run the program. The snacks were very imaginative, the crafts were possible for a wide range of ages and applicable, and the Bible stories were AWESOME! They were dramatized by two women who really put their hearts into it. Music...well, it can't all be good. It must be hard to sing the same 20 minutes of songs 6 times in a row.
They didn't take up money offerings, but collected school supplies and canned food.
